We’re excited to let you know that soon we will be changing our name to Zava.
What does it mean for you? The short answer is an improvement on the service you’ve already experienced from DrEd. But there’s much more to Zava than just a different name.
We know that a lot of people don’t like change. Let us reassure you that although we’ll have a different name, we are the same company, with the same team, providing the same service. You don’t need to re-register or change your password and we’re still storing all of your medical information securely.

The reason for us changing our name is beyond functional. When our founders, Amit and David set up the company back in 2011, they worked alongside one doctor in what could be generously described as a broom cupboard. For a long time, DrEd worked for us as a brand. But as time went on, we started to feel that the company we were creating had outgrown it.
So we took a step back to look at the business with fresh eyes. Why do we do what we do?
What does Zava mean?
Our name is inspired by the French 'Ça va ?', meaning 'how's it going?' We encourage our patients to be open and share what's happening in their lives. It’s a question that encourages a conversation that might not have happened otherwise.
And just like the best conversation with a doctor that you’ve had, with our service, you can share as much or as little information as you like, without worrying.
Our vision is ‘To stop fear of judgement damaging the world’s health’. We know it’s a problem that exists on a huge scale. We provide treatment for the conditions people often don’t want to talk about. Conditions that people might worry about being judged for having. But imagine a world where no health condition carries a stigma. Where no one puts off getting the treatment they need. We want to fix the broken healthcare model. Healthcare without judgement.

Our new website
Our website and the service we provide is the foundation of working towards our vision. We want to empower anyone who visits Zava to access support or treatment by giving them the information and encouragement they need to take care of their health.
We want to provide the most compassionate and concise medical assessment in the world and put our patients in control of how they are treated. We want to give our patients support beyond the transaction so they feel we’re always in their corner.
Works on any device, anywhere
We know our patients need to access our service from anywhere, at anytime and we want to ensure that’s possible. Regardless of the device you use to access Zava, you’ll get a consistent, high quality experience.
Accessible for all
We want to help anyone we can, regardless of their background or situation, or existing conditions. That’s why we’ve worked with patients to design every element of our experience to be accessible to everyone. We’ve used legible font throughout, strong colour contrast and clear navigation.
As Zava continues to grow, both in terms of the number of patients we’re able to help and the size of the team, we wanted to recognise what our values are.
We help anyone we can, regardless of their background or situation, offering compassionate healthcare without judgement.
We are open, clear and collaborative with each other and our patients.
We want to fix the broken healthcare model, setting out a new vision for healthcare without judgement.
If we’re encouraging patients to share things they might not have shared with anyone else, we have to design an experience which makes them feel comfortable doing so. Zava uses illustrations, typography, colour and iconography to make our service feel warm and compassionate, not cold and unwelcoming.

We hope you’ve enjoyed learning a bit more about Zava and our vision going forwards. Hopefully you can see that this goes way beyond us changing our name.
This is an exciting new chapter for many reasons. We are inspired by our patients' stories and we will always be grateful that they gave DrEd the opportunity to help them.
