We use this cookie for you to remain logged in after you register and login normally. We check the cookie and compare it with the information in our database for additional security.

The cookie expires when you close your browser. You can find it as "dr_session".

Patient ID

Your patient ID is held in a cookie to enable the website to present different information to you, such as available discounts. By storing your patient ID in a cookie, the website experience is much faster.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand what pages and services our patients like and use. From this we can improve the user experience on our website. anonymizes all personal data.

Google Analytics cookies vary in terms of how long they remain on your computer. You can find them as "__utmx", where x may be a different letter.

How to disable DrEd cookies

You can disable the DrEd cookies if you wish to prevent any of our tracking capabilities. However, as with most websites this will not allow you to log in, preventing you from placing an assessment or an order for prescription medication. If you still wish to use normally, but prevent any analytical tracking, you may opt to disable Google Analytics.

If you have Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, you can set to only use session based cookies, preventing our Google Analytics cookie from tracking you any further.

If you have Internet Explorer, Apple Safari or a phone, it may be more difficult to block just our analytics cookie, so you may have to delete cookies manually.

You can select for session cookies (important for you to stay logged in) only to be used when on

Mozilla Firefox


If you would like to manage your session cookies and are using Mozilla Firefox, please follow these steps:

  4. Click Permissions
  5. Uncheck "Use Default" and click "Allow for Session"

Apple Safari


  1. Open the Preferences view
  2. Click the Privacy tab
  3. There will be an option that says "x websites stored cookies or other data". Click "Details..." here.
  4. Select and click "Remove"

Internet Explorer (IE9)


  1. With a page open, press F12 on your keyboard
  2. Click the Cache menu option in the new area below
  3. Click "Clear cookies for domain"


Note: This will remove all cookies including other website's cookies

  1. Go to Settings for Browser
  2. Scroll down and find "Clear all cookie data"
  3. Click OK
