Circadin is a medication used to treat jet lag. It contains a hormone called melatonin, which regulates the sleep-wake cycle, or “body-clock”.
Order melatonin tablets from DrEd and enjoy your holidays without suffering from jet lag. To place an order, you need to fill in a short medical questionnaire and select your preferred treatment. Our online doctor will review your answers and approve appropriate treatment. Once approved, your medication is dispatched without delay. Orders placed before 4pm will be processed the same day.
Melatonin is currently not licensed for use in jet lag in the UK. However, if you're medically suitable, we can still prescribe it for jet lag, as long as you're aware of this. Melatonin is licensed for use to treat insomnia, but a large scientific review has approved its use for prevention of jet lag.
Prices include prescription and delivery.
Circadin contains the active ingredient melatonin, a hormone which naturally occurs in the human body. Depending on the time of the day, your blood levels of melatonin vary. The hormone forms part of your “body clock” and determines at which time you feel awake and and which time you feel tired. Your body increases the production of melatonin when it gets dark, which is why you begin to feel increasingly sleepy as the evening progresses.
When you take a long-distance flight, you cross time zones. As a result, the cycle of day and night that you are used to is interrupted. It will get dark at a different time at your destination, which can be difficult to adjust to. Your body needs to get used to the new time zone and produce melatonin at a different time to allow you to sleep at night. In order to help your body get used to the new routine, you can take Circadin. You need to take a melatonin tablet in the evening before you want to sleep. The melatonin in the tablets will help you sleep when it is night at your travel destination. This way, your body clock will get used to the new time zone quickly.

You need to take one Circadin tablet 1 - 2 hours before you go to bed. Take the tablet after a meal with a glass of water. Swallow the tablet whole without crushing or chewing it. When you order Circadin prolonged-release tablets from DrEd, you will receive a packet of 10 tablets. You should take one on the first night in your new destination, just before bedtime. You can also take a tablet in the same way for the next 2-3 days if needed, until you feel that you have adjusted to the new time zone. (You may also want to repeat this process after your flight home again).
Do not take more than one tablet per day. If you have forgotten one dose, continue your treatment with one tablet the following evening - do not double the dose to make up for the one you have missed.
Each Circadin tablet contains 2mg of the active ingredient melatonin. You can stop taking your melatonin tablets whenever you feel you have adjusted to the new time zone. The medication does not cause any withdrawal symptoms or problems with sleeping.
In addition to 2mg melatonin, Circadin contains ammonio methacrylate copolymer type B, calcium hydrogen phosphate, dihydrate, lactose monohydrate, silica (colloidal anhydrous), talc and magnesium stearate.
Circadin causes side effects in some patients. Seek medical help immediately if you encounter the following side effects:
Most people tolerate Circadin well. However, the following side effects have been observed:
Do not drive or operate machinery if Circadin is making you feel drowsy.
For all known side effects of Circadin, read the patient leaflet supplied with your melatonin tablets.
Melatonin tablets can interact with certain other medications, such as:
Do not take melatonin tablets if you are allergic to melatonin or any other ingredient in the tablets.
Alcohol and tobacco can reduce the effectiveness of melatonin tablets. Abstain from smoking tobacco and drinking alcohol while taking Circadin.
This is the first time I have used this service. Website was easy to navigate and online questions very clear. prompt response and delivery of malaria tablets.
I cannot believe how easy it was to order, pay and then receive the goods. They kept me informed throughout. I wish all companies were this easy to deal with
I have been prescribed the same medication for over 4 years, yet I still have the hassle of taking valued time off work to visit my GP/local pharmacy for repeat prescriptions. This tedious exercise costs me a half day's annual leave for little more than a blood pressure reading and ironically, I own my own electronic blood pressure meter! DrEd.com - inexpensive, well packaged and prompt delivery.
Placed order one day delivered the next in discrete packaging, treatment worked as directed. Would use again and reccomed
A very good service very helpful with all my needs i would tell all my friends if they needed help
